Join Monster Couch and create the best digital board game adaptations with us!

At Monster Couch, we are a team of ambitious professionals driven by one goal – to create the best adaptations of the best board games. We are constantly curious, engaged, and we care about each other and our joint work. Our partnership is based on respect and trust. And playing a board game once in a while. (Maybe one. Maybe three, you never know.) You don’t have to be a board game expert; with us, you will discover many compelling titles.

If you feel that this is the place for you, the best option would be to check this website or Skillshot.pl from time to time. We value diversity and inclusiveness, and the common language that connects us at work is Polish, which is why we require a level of proficiency that allows for fluent communication.

A little bit about us

Monster Couch is a studio with an office in the heart of Poznań, which employs a team of nearly 30 people. We work on-site, hybrid, and remotely, and regardless of where each person lives, everyone has their own corner in the office with a desk and the necessary facilities. Most people from outside Poznań use this, coming to the office once a month or two (travel costs are, of course, covered by us).

Additionally, throughout the year, we organize trips to industry conferences, two team-building events – one in Poznań and one off-site – where we hold so-called “Couchference” (volunteers prepare various talks and presentations as if on a real conference), as well as a number of smaller meetings and events.

In our daily work, we use Agile and Radical Candor and strive to ensure that healthy, effective communication is implemented in practice, preferably quickly and directly. We also have designated core hours (9:20 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), but we remember that we are all only human – we try to be flexible and understanding about unforeseen circumstances as needed.

A well-cared-for team is a happy team that creates good games. That is why we try to contribute to the well-being of our team with additional benefits:

Medical care – financed by the employer.

Multisport – co-financed by the employer.

Hedepy platform – the possibility of anonymous support from psychotherapists, financed by the employer.

English language lessons – the possibility of learning English in the form of weekly meetings, financed by the employer.

Training and conference subsidies – we care about development, which is why we co-finance training courses and conference trips, both the most popular ones, such as GIC and Digital Dragons, as well as others.

Relocation support – we offer a relocation fund to help you find your new home in Poznań.

What happens after I submit my application?

Stage 1: Reviewing your resume

Your application will be reviewed by a person or people who will verify that you meet the formal requirements, such as experience and skills, and possibly the issue of residence/relocation for positions that require it.

Regardless of whether your application meets the requirements, you will receive a response within a few days, or we will ask you some questions.

Stage 2: Cultural fit and setting a date for the recruitment task

Those we wish to invite to the next stage of recruitment will receive a “Cultural fit” questionnaire, consisting of a few informal questions that will allow us to get to know you better – there are no right or wrong answers. At the same time, we will ask you to provide the exact date and time when you will be available to complete our recruitment task. We design the tasks so that they take specialists up to three hours to complete. So, when the time comes, please provide a specific date and time that suits you for this stage of the recruitment process – the message containing the task will be sent automatically, so don’t worry about “when it suits us.” It can be a weekend or late at night.

Important: The time it takes to complete the task is important, so please specify a date when you can approach it with full concentration.

After receiving your completed tasks, we need a few more days – up to a week and a half – to review them and send you a response regarding the next stage of the recruitment process.

We strive to provide our candidates with specific feedback on the tasks, but there will be recruitments in which we will limit ourselves only to informing you whether the task was completed correctly or incorrectly.

Stage 3: First interview

The next stage is a video call with the person responsible for recruitment process – whether it is a board member or a producer – who will ask you a few questions related to the required competencies and learn more about you and your experience related to the role you are applying for. In addition, we will ask you to send references and contact details of people who can confirm them.

Stage 4: Coming to Poznań and meeting with the team

If you pass this stage successfully, we will invite you to meet the team. The meeting will take place at Pyramida Hub on Garbary St., Poznań, where, apart from the Monster Couch office, there are also other studios and developers. If you are traveling from outside Poznań, we will cover the costs of transportation, accommodation, and lunch during the day, but be prepared to spend a few hours in one-on-one meetings with five people from Monster Couch.

Final Stage

After meeting the team, you will receive a response from us within a few days – either a rejection or an offer and terms of employment.

There may be a few days between each stage, which we need to review your application and decide on the next steps. We do not have a person dedicated solely to recruitment, and even though we try to give candidates our full attention and time, we do not want to neglect the ongoing game development processes.
